What We Believe

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

1. We believe that the Holy Bible as originally written was inerrant, verbally and plenarily inspired of God.
Bible, therefore, is to be the only basis of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human
conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried. (1 Timothy 3:16, 17; I1 Peter 1:20, 21; Deuteronomy 8:3
Matthew 5:17-19; Hebrews 4:12)

2. We believe in one God, etermally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, having the same attributes and perfections, but having His own distinct ministry in relation to His creation and people.

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, borm of the Virgin Mary, and that He is both perfect God and perfect Man. (Isaiah 7:14: John 1:1, 2, 14, 18; Luke 1:30-35; Philippians 2:5-8). We believe
that by willingly dying on the cross He became a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the whole world, that He arose and conquered death, Hell, and the grave, and is now in Heaven seated at the right hand of the Father as our interceding High Priest, and that His imminent return will end this age. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-4; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17; Hebrews 7:25)

4. We believe the Holy Spirit to be equal with God the Father and God the Son. The Holy Spirit convinces men of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals, and sets believers apart to a holy life. (John 14:16, 17;
I Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30; Acts 5:30-32; Romans 8:14; I Peter 1:2)

5. We believe in the personality of Satan, a fallen angel who is the god of this age and the author of sin and the
prince of the Powers of Darkness, and is destined to the judgement of an eternal justice in the lake of fire.
(Matthew 4:1-3; II Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10: Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:11-19)

6.  We believe man was created by God and in the image of God, that he disobeyed God, and thereby incurred spiritual and physical death as a consequence upon the Adamic race. Therefore, all are born in sin, and are
sinners by nature and practice. (Genesis 1:27, 2:15-17; 3:1-19; Ephesians 2:1, 5; 4:18, 19; Romans 5:12 3:10)

7.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ offered Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. We believe
that He died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. We believe
that every person, who, through faith, believes in Jesus Christ is justified by His shed blood. He is then passed from death into eternal life. (Hebrews 9:26-28; John 3:16; Colossians 1:14; John 1:29; I Peter 2:24; 3:18)

8.  We believe that all who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are immediately indwelt by the
Holy Spirit. We believe that at that moment of salvation the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of
Christ, regenerates, indwells permanently till we are taken home to Glory, and seals us till the day of
redemption. We believe that the Holy Spirit begins to accomplish the work of sanctification with the goal of
Christlikeness. We also believe that our relationship with Jesus Christ to be the greatest need for a strong church. (Ephesians 1:5, 11-14; Romans 6:1-4; Philippians 1:6; Romans 12:1, 2: Romans 8:15)

9. We believe that the commission of our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples makes imperative the responsibility of each believer to actively make disciples by sharing the Gospel and teaching those who accept Christ to
observe all that Christ has commanded. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

10.  We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-millenial, and pre-tribulational return of our Lord Jesus Christ
for His church. We believe that the end of the tribulation marks the final phase of the resurrection of the
righteous and begins the millenial reign of Jesus Christ on this earth. We believe that at the completion of
the millenium Christ will udge all the unrighteous and confine them to etermity in the Lake of Fire. (4cts
1:9-11; Revelation 2:7: 1 Thessalonians 3: 13; 4:14; Isaiah 11:1-10; John 14:1-3; Revelation 20:10-15)

11.  We believe in the bodily resurection of the just and the unjust, the saved to everlasting blessedness in the presence of Christ for eternity, and the lost to everlasting punishment in the Lake of Fire. 20:10-15; John 5:28, 29) (Revelation

12.  We believe the local church to be a small group of believers who belong to the universal church, gathered together for the purpose of worshiping God, edifying each other, and being involved in the work of the ministry. We believe the work of the ministry to be evangelizing the lost, teaching and training the new convert to observe all that Christ has commanded, assisting families and individuals in developing a vital relationship with their Saviour Jesus Christ and encouraging each member to exercise their spiritual gift for the edification of the body. (Mathew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11-16; I Corinthians 12:1-26; II Peter 3:18) believe the local church has the absolute right of self government, free from any interference by a hierarchy of individuals or an organization. We believe Christ to be the Head of the church both universal
and local and the one to whom all leadership is accountable. (Mathew 16:16-18; Titus 3:5;7; Acts 2:41- 42; 1 Timothy 3:17; Colossians 1:13-20; 1 Peter 5:1-5)

13. We believe that Christ instituted the ordinance of Baptism and the Lord's Supper to be observed until He comes again. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Romans 6:3-6; I Corinthians 10:16-18; Acts 10:47; 19:5)

14. We believe that God would have all men to be saved and that "whosoever will may come." (John 3:16; I Peter 3:9)

15. We believe that all who are truly born again are secure in Christ. We believe nothing shall remove them from grace or God's love and that they are secure. We understand this to be an exercise of the sovereign will of Almighty God and not a license for improper behavior. We believe that while we are secure, we as
believers will stand before Christ and be judged for those deeds done in the body. (Philippians 1:6; I
Corinthians 3:10-15; John 10:28, 29; Romans 8:32-39)

16. Marriage and Human Sexuality

       A. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of
marriage between one man and one woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality,
lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful
perversions of God's gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to
alter one's gender by surgery or appearance. (Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5,13; Lev. 181-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1Cor. 5:1;: 6:9; 1Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4)
      B. We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is joining of one man and one woman. This
Church recognizes marriage is a lifelong covenant commitment. Accordingly, this Church, its
pastor, staff and members will not participate in same sex unions or same sex marriages, nor shall
its property or resources be used for such purposes. (Gen.2:23-24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10-11; Eph. 5:22-24)

17. Any change in the Articles of Faith shall be referred to the pastor and deacons for careful study and
recommendations to the church before final action is taken.
